Musogabi’s first ever physical release!
Nameless hits 100k streams on Spotify
But hitting 100k streams less than a year since it was released makes me feel pretty acomplished- and pretty good!
Promoting music is not easy, especially when you’re doing it on your own!
Now to a million ;)
Defy Recordings - where I tracked vocals and guitars
Grand Street Recording - where we tracked other instruments with the band

the best way to find inspiration in whatever you’re doing is to step away from it
the talented engineers and musicians I worked with
Robert (who helped me produce the album) & Amanda (lovely studio intern and fellow artist)
done with recording
Most of the recording took place from September 8th - September 24th
Harmonies and finishing touches were added until October 24th
Mixing and Mastering (by Robert L. Smith) was finished October 30th
It’s absurd to me that most of the backing tracks were recorded in just two days. The rest of the recording time was just tracking vocals and some extra elements like guitar and harmonies.
The record isn’t “perfect” by any means, but perfection wasn’t what I was reaching for. Even though I would do things differently next time, it was kind of beautiful to just let the album grow into it’s own thing rather than trying to control every minute aspect of it.
It’s exactly what it is and should be
As it goes with many first albums, I didn’t know I was writing one when I was writing these songs.
It’s a little scary and risky to invest all your time, money, songs, and self into releasing an album as your first ever output as an artist.
Usually it’d be smarter to put out a string of singles or EPs right?
Yes, the answer is definitely yes.
But I have and will always respect the bold statement that is the album. The DEBUT album.
That’s why I decided to put it all out there.
And now that it’s out there, it can find it’s way in and out of people’s lives. And that’s really exciting to me.
So I don’t how it’ll all play out or if I really made the right decision, but it’ll certainly be exciting to wait and see :)
When I met the owner of the bar, he told me that he’d heard that I play music and was wondering if I’d like to play a show at his venue “Freiraum”.
I told him “I’d love to!”
He said I could play there as long as I could make the show an hour or two at least.
I thought that was a ridiculous amount of time to play, especially since I hadn’t yet written all of the songs for my album at that point.
That said, it was no problem for me because I’d play somewhere all day if I could (I’m sure most musicians can relate).
So, I had my show booked and assembled a setlist of originals and covers
Despite the nerves and terror I felt in the moments leading up to the show (and during the show in between songs), it went thoroughly well and ended up being a foundational moment for myself, my songs, and sharing them with others :)
